you never fail to surprise me every single time
when i was just a kid on my birthdays
i can still feel it..
i woke up one mornin and saw this train set on my table
i was happy and excited at the same time
it was perfectly wat i wanted
the first thing i searched for was you
but u were off to work
the next moment i knew i hated you
i was gonna haf a lil' sister
she's gonna take away all eyes that were on me
i lost all attention
as she grew up, i hated both her and you more
she never fails to get whatever she wanted
but when its with me,
u'd always procastinate and forgot abt me
i became a crybaby to seek ur love
then i was labeled the 'irritant'
i realised that it wasnt workin out
so i kept everythin to myself
i isolated from my family
minding my own business
just settin up goals
one of them was to move out
to be independent, without any help
i rarely open up my mouth
unless if i needed to borrow money
with time, i grew up closer to granny
she always supervised and showed care for me
i hated her somehow
she nags alot and loves to order me around
through it all, i obeyed her feelin pissed off
i love to break the house rules;
to be home in the early hours,
to sign up for bike licence,
to play soccer,
to reek of booze and smoke after clubbin,
i did all that to get ur attention
however so, only granny approached me on all that
i even get caned if i got home around 2am
she'll be losin sleep, waitin up on me
i became rebellious and treated the house like a hotel
i quieten down only after dad told me not to go overboard
as i got matured and bored of all the nonsense,
i was a family person
sister got married, nephews born,
mom found out abt my sexual orientation
she was disappointed with the way both of us turned out
i realised she's all that
the sacrifices she made
the shit she has to put up with me
sometimes me yellin at her for no reason
indirectly lashin out my emotions
graduated from school, worked part-time
i never fail to give her some money
hopin to make her smile
now, i'll do anything for her
if she needs help
in every way and any way possible
i wont let any creep bully her
though mom and dad are at JB now
i wanna wish her a happy mother's day
whatever it is, mothers will be mothers
